RECRUIT & RETAIN
RECRUIT & RETAIN qualified workforce in and around the Fehmarnbelt Region. The Fehmarnbelt Education Link.
The project focuses on the increasing shortage of skilled personnel, especially due to an ageing population and the migration of young people to urban areas, and due to many 25 -30 year old without education or job. This puts pressure on healthcare systems. The project addresses two regional challenges:
1) the health status of citizens, which is below national average in DE/DK, and
2) the recruiting-difficulties faced by healthcare institutions.
Without sufficient numbers of specialized personnel, hospitals/healthcare institutions will have difficulties in overcoming future challenges and in raising the health status up to the average level in DE/DK. The Project helps to increase the attractiveness of the region and to promote social and economic development through education.
The project has two fields of action:
RECRUIT will enhance the interest among young people in healthcare professions and bringing them into contact with educational institutions. The aim is to encourage them to start an education in the healthcare sector, and
RETAIN students who are completing training in nursing and healthcare professions. The aim is to keep them in their education and prevent them from dropping out.
