NorDigHealth

Can new health technologies and devices help prevent disease and improve individual health through self-monitoring, gamification and telecommunication?

Ditte Luise Hartvig Faglig leder for projektledelse, ph.d.

Researchers from Zealand University Hospital, Lübeck and Roskilde University are investigating whether new technological devices can help improve an individual’s health by motivating a more active lifestyle.

NorDigHealth is an EU-funded health project in which researchers from Denmark and Germany are working to improve the health of citizens in Næstved and Lübeck through new technology.

NorDigHealth consists of Danish and German municipalities, hospital departments, private companies and educational institutions working together to improve the health of citizens through health technology.

The project works with both healthy citizens and patients to prevent disease and improve health.

Danish-German research collaboration

NorDigHealth is a collaboration between researchers from Zealand University Hospital, Lübeck and Roskilde University, private companies and others. In the project, the researchers are investigating whether new devices can help improve individual health by motivating people to adopt a more active lifestyle.

New technology

Technology is playing an increasingly central role in our daily lives. Most people now own a smartphone equipped with apps that track activities, like step counts, and often, the phone screen is the last thing we see before going to bed. Studies suggest that self-monitoring can encourage people to be more physically active, even if only briefly. Health technology is also becoming integral to disease diagnosis and treatment. In the NorDigHealth project, health technologies are used to support as many people as possible in adopting healthier lifestyles.
